Saw this in The Star Online today.
Reading this made me think. So, Mr. Immediate-Past-President (!) of The Electrical and Electronics Association of Malaysia (TEEAM), by virtue of implication, are you saying that ALL plugs carrying the Sirim sticker are guaranteed to be safe? Dear sharks lawyers, please keep this in mind the next time a fire occurs due to a Sirim-approved plug burning out. I smell a class-action suit waiting to happen.

Don’t worry Mr. Wanderer, if there were a fire caused by SIRIM electrical product, the product will be properly burnt, so that no evidence is found.
I don’t understand how a plug should be RM4~RM5 when it can be manufactured for a fraction of that.
Oh well, I guess this might be moot, since it isn’t often that we go out to buy plugs for our appliances and most of them already has plugs included.
One of my habit is to detach the plugs when decided to throw away the electrical appliances. ^_^
Well, a tools that sold to the gov is marked up more than 100%, so when the gov “produced” something, it has to mark up to a certain amount in order to balance kua?
Hey, that’s a pretty decent tip you have there. So there you go, boys and girls. Authentic has spoken. Remember to take off the plugs off of old or busted (make sure it ain’t the plug that’s busted) appliances and keep for a rainy day.

The reason I did so is because — have to take out the fuse before throwing the electrical appliances, so might as well take out the whole plug. I am so lazy to open up the plug just to take out the fuse….. cutting off the wires is much easier….
I see, you remove the fuses to… Reuse? Recycle?
